Utah LASIK Surgery Practice Hosts Free LASIK Giveaway for Mother's Day

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - May 1, 2012) - At the Eye Institute of Utah, a center for cataract surgery and LASIK in Salt Lake City, doctors with the practice have announced they will be hosting a giveaway for Mother's Day to honor their patients who have made such demanding sacrifices to motherhood. Loved ones will be able to submit the names and stories of deserving mothers via the Eye Institute of Utah website, www.theeyeinstitute.com, or the Eye Institute of Utah Facebook page to be selected for the giveaway of a free LASIK laser eye surgery procedure. The four winning mothers will be awarded the gift of sight on May 11, 2012.

Typically valued at almost $2,500 per eye, Cornea Specialist Dr. Darcy Wolsey with The Eye Institute of Utah says the LASIK giveaway provides a unique opportunity to reward the mothers who have made a difference in the lives of their friends and families. Dr. Wolsey says she is honored to take part in the upcoming event and hopes to give her patients a chance at a life free from the burdens of glasses and contact lenses. "Mothers are the fabric that hold our community together," she says. "They sacrifice their own time and resources for the good of their family and friends. We are honored that we can give back to them and it's our way of saying 'thank you' for a job well done."

The Eye Institute will select four deserving mothers from hundreds of applicants. Finalists will be invited to The Eye Institute for an exam and screening to make sure they are candidates for LASIK. The four mothers will receive their LASIK procedure at no charge, performed at The Eye Institute of Utah located at 755 East 3900 South in Salt Lake City, Utah. As one of only a few IntraLase practices to offer iFS and ALLEGRETTO WAVE™ Excimer Laser Systems for LASIK in Utah, Dr. Wolsey says The Eye Institute's advanced technology offers patients, mothers or not, highly precise and effective treatment for restoring vision and reducing dependency on glasses or contacts.

Megan Staley, a winner of The Eye Institute's 2011 Mother's Day LASIK giveaway, says her experience last year was monumental: "After 20 years of wearing contacts or classes, I am still amazed when I wake up in the morning and can see without having to reach for my glasses. Just the fact that they have a contest like this speaks volumes about the people at the Eye Institute of Utah. My entire experience from start to finish was excellent and the results are so amazing."

As with any procedure, The Eye Institute of Utah recommends that anyone considering LASIK surgery to consult with an experienced and dedicated practice before undergoing treatment. Dr. Wosley and the Eye Institute also say dedication to providing personalized care is essential for achieving the best results.
