UTEC Unveils Hazardous Chemicals and Biological Waste Destruction Unit

FOX ISLAND, WA--(Marketwire - October 15, 2007) - UTEC Inc. (PINKSHEETS: UTEI) "Hazardous Chemicals and Biological Waste Destruction" Update and Management's Report. The management team, headed by Dr. Fortunato Villamagna, Ph.D., CEO of UTEC Inc., is pleased to update its Shareholders on the progress of the UTEC Glid-Arc Plasma Oxidizer pilot program.

UTEC acquired the Hazardous Chemicals and Biological Waste Destruction technology in early 2007 from the internationally recognized CERAMATEC, INC., a Utah Corporation with head offices in Salt Lake City. UTEC (PINKSHEETS: UTEI) obtained the Worldwide License for the exclusive use of CERAMATEC's know-how and pending patents related to Plasma Oxidizer Technologies. This unit uses low energy plasma to destroy organic compounds in the presence of steam and oxygen creating essentially carbon dioxide and water vapor.

The initial development program to manufacture the UTEC Glid-Arc Plasma Oxidizer system is well underway, with a pilot scale unit capable of destroying 5 tons of hazardous materials per year to be deployed at the company's Kansas facility shortly. This additional capability, added to UTEI's currently contracted government and private client base, vastly expands UTEC Inc.'s hazardous chemicals destruction capabilities with clients like the DOD. The biological waste destruction component represents an important growth market for UTEC. Additionally, a larger unit capable of destroying 50 tons per year of hazardous chemicals and biologicals is also being engineered and built. The company is currently working with a potential customer to deploy this scaled-up unit at the customer's facility.

These waste destruction units will provide significant cost savings and safety improvements to customers, and make significant contributions to UTEC's future growth. The Waste Destruction Division will focus on providing solutions for the low-volume high-margin processing of highly reactive, toxic and hazardous waste. This important third leg to UTEC's current business strategy adds considerable strength to the company's core business.
