The unit's short wave UV (254 nm) tubes also provide efficient reagent decontamination, including carryover contamination, while preserving PCR amplification of minute quantities of DNA.
The Spectrolinker is equipped with a programmable, "smart," user-friendly microprocessor controller. It also features an auto-repeat function, four operation modes, an LED-function indicator and a color-coded keypad. Numerous built-in "help" messages provide tremendous benefits to the user, including an indication of when UV tubes need to be replaced, when an operation has been interrupted, and the completion of a sanitizing cycle. It will also advise if the door is open during a run, which protects the user from accidental UV radiation exposure.
