Vacatia Teams Up With Make-A-Wish® to Grant Children's Wishes

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 18, 2013) - Vacatia (www.vacatia.com), the new, trusted online marketplace for buyers and sellers of vacation ownership interests, today announced that they have teamed up with the Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area Chapter to provide children and their families with trips to dream destinations and activities. Make-A-Wish focuses on granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Vacatia provided deluxe accommodations and other arrangements for two Make-A-Wish children -- Landon, age 5, and Riley, age 7 -- for their wish trips to San Diego, CA and Orlando, FL.

"Vacatia is honored to partner with Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area and help grant wishes for some wonderful and deserving children," said Vacatia CEO Keith Cox. "Our connections with shared ownership resorts throughout the country allow us to give these families a very special getaway at the destination of their choosing."

Landon loves playing with Legos so Make-A-Wish and Vacatia whisked he and his family off to San Diego, where they enjoyed luxurious accommodations at the Grand Pacific Palisades. This timeshare resort provided easy access to neighboring LEGOLAND as well as the San Diego Zoo, Sea World and the San Diego Safari Park. Best of all, this family of five enjoyed a comfortable, condo-like setting with a full kitchen for sharing a home-cooked meal, plus a large living area for cherished down time together and private bedrooms.

Riley loves Dora the Explorer so Make-A-Wish and Vacatia arranged a getaway for him and his family to Orlando. They stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas where he was mere moments away from Universal Studios, enjoyed splashing in the kiddie pool and playing bingo and mini golf.

"We always try to incorporate the element of surprise in every wish, and make them as magical as possible. With Vacatia's help, we're able to give these children an even better experience, and know that they will be well taken care of throughout their stay" says Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area executive director, Patricia Wilson.

Vacatia certainly surprised and delighted the kids as commented by two mother's:

"The Make-A-Wish trip was truly a positive experience for our entire family," said Donna Leu, Landon's mother. "Being able to take this trip just after Landon had completed his treatment was like ending one chapter in Landon's life and beginning a new chapter with much more pleasant memories for the whole family. Landon enjoyed everything about the trip, starting with limousine service to the airport, VIP treatment, the great reception upon arrival from Vacatia, the great hospitality service, and being able to build Lego figurines of himself and his brother to place in the Miniland exhibit permanently. We were very overwhelmed by the generosity of Make-A-Wish and Vacatia, and are forever grateful to everyone who made Landon's wish possible."

"We cannot thank Vacatia and Make-A-Wish enough for giving Riley the opportunity to fulfill his dream of meeting with Dora the Explorer in Orlando, Florida," said Frances Conde, Riley's Mother. "Their generous donation made it possible for us to experience a vacation of a lifetime that would have otherwise not been possible. The excitement on Riley's face when he saw Dora the Explorer, Boots and Diego is something I will always remember. I cannot express how much these moments of happiness mean to us. Every aspect of the week was perfect from the luxury condominium and the car service to the time we spent at the parks and attractions. We will always be grateful to Vacatia and Make-A-Wish!"
