Vail Valley Dentist Uses State-of-the-Art Scanner to Provide Highest-Quality Fabrications for Orthodontic and Restorative Treatments

AVON, CO--(Marketwired - September 30, 2014) - Dr. David Maloley, a leader in providing complete Vail Valley cosmetic dental care, has introduced new technology into his practice that eliminates goopy impressions for patients who require dental molds for orthodontic or restorative treatments.

The revolutionary iTero Intraoral Scanner uses a hand-held wand to take digital scans of a patient's teeth and bite. There are no uncomfortable impressions needed, and the iTero provides time-efficient and precise results for every patient. Once Dr. Maloley is satisfied with the iTero scan, the results are sent to a lab, where the fabrication process begins.

"It's easier for the patient because it eliminates the need for any goopy impression materials, and it provides the most accurate reading of the patient's bite and teeth," said Dr. Maloley, a highly regarded Vail Valley cosmetic dentist who owns and operates Vail Valley Dental Care. "It's been a helpful tool in creating the best alignment for our Invisalign treatment."

Vail Valley Dental Care provides general dentistry, sedation dentistry, restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. Individual services include preventive care, orthodontics, laser gum reshaping, Six Month Smiles, mouthguards, periodontal disease treatments, porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges, Invisalign for adults and teens, and different types of teeth whitening procedures, including in-office whitening and home teeth whitening treatments. Vail Valley Dental Care is an Invisalign Preferred Provider and was named the 2011-2012 Small Business of the Year.

Dr. Maloley believes in giving back to the community, which is why his office donates a percentage of its revenue to a non-profit partner each month. Vail Valley Dental Care also participates in Give Kids a Smile, an annual free day of dentistry, and the Eagle County Smiles Program, and Dr. Maloley is a member of Toastmasters and Junior Achievement.

A native of Lexington, Neb., Dr. Maloley attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where he received his bachelor's degree and then his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Maloley was a student athletic trainer during the 1994 and 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers football teams' national champion seasons. Since graduating, Dr. Maloley has completed more than 1,000 hours in continuing education, earning the Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Maloley completed his general dentistry residency in Fort Jackson, S.C., in 2003 and then served in the U.S. Army as a dental officer for the next five years. He was stationed for two years in both Germany and Italy. Dr. Maloley worked for two years in Charlotte, N.C., at a private practice until he moved to Colorado to open Vail Valley Dental Care in 2009. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association and Colorado Dental Association.

The staff of Vail Valley Dental Care understands that dental treatments can be financially challenging. For new and existing patients, the practice offers an in-office dental savings plan called Quality Dental Plan that covers preventive care 100 percent and gives substantial savings on services like cosmetic dentistry.
