Valencia Announces Financing

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 16, 2012) - Valencia Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:VVI) ("Valencia" or the "Company") is pleased to announce a private placement of up to 10,000,000 common shares (the "Shares") at a price of $0.05 per Share for gross proceeds of up to $500,000 (the "Offering"). The Shares issued pursuant to the Offering will be subject to a four month hold period under applicable Canadian securities laws. Closing of the Offering is expected to occur on or before May 7, 2012 and is subject to receipt of all applicable regulatory approvals, including approval of the TSX Venture Exchange. The Company does not expect to pay finder's fees in connection with the Offering, in accordance with the policy of the TSX Venture Exchange. The Company expects to use the proceeds for working capital purposes.

Appointment of Chairman

Valencia also announces that Paul Roberts has been appointed as the independent Chair of the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Roberts is a geological and civil engineer who spent the first decade of his career in resource definition and development for an international mining consulting firm. Thereafter, he headed the mining research team at Merrill Lynch Canada, working in corporate finance and institutional sales. He subsequently moved to Vice President, Corporate Development for a company engaged in mine development and operations. He has successfully run four publicly traded junior mining companies and has served on several boards for various companies. At present, he is also President of Minvest Inc., a consulting organization providing technical and financial expertise to mining corporations, the investment community and governments.
