Value Partners Investments Inc. Announces Capping of VPI Value Pool

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - June 2, 2014) - Value Partners Investments Inc. ("VPI"), the manager of VPI Value Pool, announced today that VPI Value Pool (the "Pool") will be capped and will no longer be offered for sale to new or existing investors after the close of business on June 30, 2014.

VPI believes it is in the best interests of investors to close the Pool to new purchases as the Pool has accumulated a considerable cash position as the result of sales and the disposition of several holdings within the Pool. At this time, the Portfolio Manager does not believe there are many investment opportunities in the market which meet its strict criteria for quality and value. Until such time as suitable investment opportunities for the Pool do arise and the Portfolio Manager can deploy cash towards those opportunities, VPI believes it is in the best interests of investors to halt the inflow of cash from new sales. VPI does intend to re-open the Pool to new sales in the future and will be actively monitoring the investment activity in the Pool to determine when it is the appropriate time to do so.

VPI does offer several other investment options for investors who may be considering investing with VPI. Please contact your investment advisor for further details.
