Vance Air Force Base Secured With Mobilisa's Defense ID

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - February 21, 2008) - Mobilisa announced today that it has integrated its high-tech security system, Defense ID, at points of entry at Vance Air Force Base, in Oklahoma. The value of the competitively bid contract, including equipment, support and training, is in excess of $100,000. This award comes on the heels of having won a bid for approximately $580,000 to protect Fort Richardson, Fort Wainwright and Elmendorf Air Force Base, each in the State of Alaska.

Vance is the U.S. Air Force's only Joint Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training base, training more than 400 Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allied student pilots for worldwide deployment and AEF support in the T-1, T-6 and T-38 aircraft.

"Mobilisa is proud to have worked with Vance AFB officials to help secure its base by providing the tools and advanced technology necessary to perform an instant background check each and every time someone proposes to enter their base," said Dr. Nelson Ludlow, CEO of Mobilisa.

Mobilisa's Defense ID uses a rugged, handheld scanner to quickly and accurately read information electronically stored on identification cards presented at points of entry. The information read from the identification cards is instantaneously compared to over 100 databases of individuals who are wanted for criminal offenses or who are otherwise barred from military installations. Due to the fact that Defense ID works with United States military identification cards, state and Canadian provincial driver licenses, passports, smart cards and other forms of government identification cards, bases utilizing the system do not need to issue or create special badges, which can be a major cost savings.

Defense ID is credited in helping security personnel identify and prevent over 50,000 unauthorized individuals from gaining entry onto over 50 military and federal installations around the nation.
