Vancouver-Based Forum for Women Entrepreneurs to Host First-Ever Toronto Event Featuring Christine Day (CEO, Luvo Inc, Past CEO, lululemon athletica)

'EXCITE: An Evening to Inspire Entrepreneurship' is supported by some of Canada's foremost women leaders

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 5, 2015) - The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE) announced it is hosting its first-ever event in Toronto, welcoming over 100 women entrepreneurs and business leaders who will hear from FWE Champion Christine Day, CEO of Luvo Inc and past CEO of lululemon athletica. EXCITE: An Evening to Inspire Entrepreneurship takes place Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Thompson Hotel Lobby Bar.

The sold-out cocktail event is supported by FWE Champions including Michele Romanow (CBC Dragons' Den's newest Dragon for season 10, Co-Founder of Buytopia.ca); Victoria Sopik (CEO, Kids & Company, RBC Canadian Women's Entrepreneur Awards recipient 2013, EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2012); and Joanna Track (Co-Founder, Good Eggs & Co, Founder, eLUXE.ca and sweetspot.ca).

Founded in 2002, FWE has been running its tried-and-true educational and mentorship programs in BC, and has helped thousands of women take their business to the next level. Just last month in Vancouver, it hosted 45 women from 26 communities across 5 provinces in Canada for its 3-day intensive educational program called E-Series. Women entrepreneurs who attend E-Series have seen an average annualized revenue growth of over 40% in their business and over 90% of all past participating companies are still in business - well above the national average of 50% after 5 years.

Now, FWE is coming to Toronto to tell women entrepreneurs here about the program and to encourage them to attend E-Series 2016, which will be held April 6 - 8 in Vancouver at The Vancouver Club.

E-Series has been referred to as a "mini MBA" for entrepreneurs and has been attended by notable women such as Judy Brooks, co-founder of Blo Blow Dry Bar, with locations in Vancouver, Toronto, across the US and overseas; Lara Kozan, co-founder of YYoga, with locations in Vancouver and Toronto; and Cybele Negris, CEO and Co-Founder of Webnames.ca, Canada's original .CA domain provider.

"To be successful in business, it's essential to take the time to work on the business, instead of in it. The magic of our E-Series program is that we make it accessible, comprehensive and relevant for all entrepreneurs, regardless of what stage of business they are in," said Christina Anthony, FWE Founder and Chair. "In Toronto, entrepreneurship is thriving, and FWE is excited to tell women entrepreneurs here how we can support them with our educational and mentor programs."

EXCITE: An Evening to Inspire Entrepreneurship takes place Thursday, May 7, 2015, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Thompson Hotel Lobby Bar, 550 Wellington St W in Toronto.
