Vancouver Box Manufacturer Racer Boxes Unravels Industry Mystery

Vancouver Box Manufacturer Explains What Corrugated Cardboard Is and How It Differs From Regular Cardboard in New Blog Post

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - January 29, 2016) - Racer Boxes, a box manufacturing company in Vancouver, recently published a fun article that addresses one of those questions that no one knows the answer to but are unwilling to ask-just what the heck is corrugated cardboard? For more, go to: http://racerboxes.com/blog/what-is-corrugated-cardboard-vancouver-boxes/#more-732

Corrugated cardboard. You've probably run across the term before, but what does it mean? How is it different from regular cardboard? Is it different? According to the article, corrugated cardboard is simply one type of cardboard.

Popular for its strength and durability, corrugated cardboard is made up of two layers of brown kraft paper. The term corrugate comes from the converting process where wood pulp is corrugated and made into paper. It's rolled over to create the familiar corrugated waves, and then cut to size and glued together to form its final shape.

The product was first developed in 1884 by a Swedish chemist who pioneered the process for pulping wood chips into the strong and durable material that is commonly used today. Part of the reason corrugated cardboard is still favorably regarded is because it's an environmentally friendly product made up of only 10% freshly cut trees. The remainder comes from recycled paper and board or the leftover woodchips, shavings, and sawdust from other operations.

Racer Boxes is pleased to manufacture corrugated cardboard to meet the packaging and shipping needs of customers around Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
