Vancouver Resume Writer Joins Tri-Mentoring Program at the University of British Columbia

Vancouver Resume Writer, Milton Kiang, Will Mentor Arts Students Who Want Help Transitioning From University to the Working World

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - October 21, 2015) - Milton Kiang, a professional resume writer in Vancouver and the founder of Channel Resume, will be returning to his alma mater to mentor Arts students. The Tri-Mentoring Program helps students who wish to learn more about the job market, polish their job interviewing skills, and explore career options. As a UBC alumnus, Kiang graduated almost 26 years ago. His experience as a successful career writer will help students hone their skills as they prepare for the job market.

"We all know that earning a humanities degree doesn't usher a person right into a well-paying job at the outset in the same way that a degree in medicine, law or engineering might," says Kiang.

As a mentor, he will meet with a UBC student at least four times over the school year. Tri-Mentoring volunteers help students in many different ways. They may provide career advice, allow students to job shadow, or even take them to industry events. Through these opportunities, students develop new skills, improve communication and teamwork skills, and grow their professional network. These are strong advantages when breaking into the job market.

"Ultimately, the Tri-Mentoring Program is as beneficial for mentors as it is for students," says Kiang. "It's a great opportunity to hone skills, contribute to the next generation of leaders, and maintain connections with one of the most prestigious universities in the world."
