Vancouver Resume Writer to Share Expertise at Career Night

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - November 16, 2015) - Vancouver resume writer, Milton Kiang, an alumnus of the JET program, will speak at a career night session meant to help returning participants secure jobs.

Milton Kiang, a professional resume writer in Vancouver and the founder of Channel Resume, has been invited to share his job-hunting expertise at a Career Night for returning participants of the 2014-15 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. The event will take place on Nov 19th at the Alliance for Arts and Culture. For more information, go to: http://www.jetaabc.ca/2015/11/2015-jetaabc-career-night/

The JET Program, founded in 1987, seeks to promote mutual understanding between the people of Japan and those of other nations. By inviting participants to serve public and private schools around Japan, the Program aims to enhance foreign language education, and promote understanding and tolerance between Japanese youth and the global community.

Participants typically live in Japan for one to three years before returning to their own countries. The annual Career Night is both a welcome and an icebreaker for returning participants, aimed at helping them resettle into Canadian society.

The upcoming Career Night was announced during a recent reception held for returning JET participants at the official residence of the Consul General of Japan. The reception featured guest speakers such as Dr. Ross King, Head of the UBC Asian Studies department and Mike Daily, President of JETAABC (JET Alumni Association).

A JET participant from 1989-90, Kiang was assigned to Yokohama city. After finishing the JET Program, Kiang completed his law degree and later became a legal recruiter. He worked in Hong Kong for nearly 13 years, before returning to Vancouver and starting Channel Resume.

As a speaker, Kiang will combine his professional experience as both a recruiter and resume writer to offer young Canadians tips on how to improve their resumes, avoid common resume mistakes, and conduct an effective job search.

The overall objectives of the Career Night will be to provide young program alumni with insight into the Canadian job market and ideas about how to leverage all the experience they've gained overseas to their greatest advantage.
