Vangent Awarded $5.3M Contract to Support U.S. Census Bureau Contact Centers

Vangent to Implement State-of-the-Art Technology at Three Centers in Maryland, Indiana and Arizona

ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - Sep 19, 2011) - Vangent, Inc., a leading global provider of information management and strategic business process services, today announced it was awarded a $5.3 million contract with the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Census Bureau to implement, operate, and transition transaction recording and automated workforce scheduling systems at the three permanent telephone call centers located in Jeffersonville, IN, Hagerstown, MD, and Tucson, AZ. The contract has a two-year base period of performance, with one, one-year option and a total value of $5.3 million, if the option is exercised.

The three U.S. Census Bureau call centers conduct various economic surveys, as well as the ongoing American Community Survey, and utilize inbound and outbound calls and call monitoring to achieve their mission of supporting data gathering via telephone interviews. Under the contract, Vangent will support the mission of the U.S. Census Bureau by implementing and operating state-of-the-art transaction recording and workforce scheduling systems to increase contact quality and staffing efficiencies.
