Vanu®, Inc. Announces Launch of Professional Services Group

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - April 24, 2008) - Vanu, Inc., a leader in the development of software radio solutions for cellular operators and the developer of the Anywave® Base Station, the first U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC)-certified software radio for both CDMA and GSM, announced today the launch of their Professional Services Group, a new business division that works directly with customers to determine the optimal use of spectrum, create new revenue opportunities and deliver a greater return on investment.

Vanu will now be able to assist rural carriers in designing network build out with services that can map coverage areas and predict roaming traffic. These services are designed to answer critical questions for rural operators including what coverage area a carrier can expect from a tower or set of towers, what roaming opportunities are available with the addition of another standard, how much spectrum is required to evolve to EDGE or UMTS or LTE, and whether the carrier needs to trade in cost, capacity, or call-quality to achieve business goals, among other needs.

To address this, our team offers a number of tools and services, all targeted to remove any barriers that carriers face in either building out a new network or adding to their existing one. Vanu's professional services include:

--  Network Validation Tool - Intended to assist rural carriers discover
    and estimate the potential roaming revenue to be harvested in specific
    demographic areas.
    
--  Frequency Planning and Network Design - Based on customer spectrum
    usage goals, this service provides a comprehensive report and coverage map
    with suggestions for each cell site to be deployed.
    
--  Network Operations Center (NOC) - Monitors and maintains network,
    responding to alarms and troubleshooting. Vanu tools can be implemented
    into an existing NOC, or Vanu services can provide a NOC if one is not
    already in place.
    
--  Host Switching - Solution enables carriers to add a new cellular
    standard to their network without investing in their own Mobile Switching
    Center (MSC).
    
--  Network Installation - Comprehensive installation services for
    building out a new network or adding sites to an existing one.
    
--  Equipment Maintenance - Local support from Vanu-certified technicians
    to maintain spare equipment parts and swap out as necessary.
