vArmour Names Marc Woolward as Chief Technology Officer, EMEA

Former Goldman Sachs Networking CTO and Technology Fellow to Drive vArmour Vision and Execution to Deliver Unprecedented Security to the Data Center

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 11, 2015) - vArmour, the data center security company that protects enterprises and service providers from advanced cyber attacks and laterally moving threats, today added another key member to its executive team with Marc Woolward, former Goldman Sachs CTO of Networking and Technology Fellow, joining as Chief Technology Officer, EMEA. With over 30 years of experience in setting the technology direction and solving mission critical and sophisticated network security challenges including 16 years at Goldman Sachs, Marc Woolward will extend vArmour's leadership in solving customers' greatest security concerns in moving to the cloud and software-based computing.

"Security has remained an obstacle when looking to build a true, fully dynamic cloud," said Marc Woolward, vArmour CTO, EMEA. "vArmour is the first company that solves this incredibly complex problem I have been thinking about for years. We have a world-class team with proven success in developing security products that companies are benefiting from today globally. It's an exciting time to join vArmour's incredibly agile and effective team as we deliver a data center security solution that customers have been clamoring for."

Working alongside vArmour Founder Michael Shieh, Marc will contribute his extensive experience by bringing the operator perspective to the security challenges of dynamic, data-driven networks. He will extend vArmour's leadership in delivering a scalable, distributed security solution needed for the data center for today and in the future.

"Marc brings technical excellence in networking from Goldman Sachs, one of the top investment banking companies in the world which will significantly enhance vArmour's vision and execution," said Tim Eades, vArmour CEO. "With his expertise and passion, we believe that our distributed data center security solution will be welcomed by a gamut of enterprises in EMEA and globally."

The new addition will bolster vArmour's leadership team as it continues to deliver on its mission of protecting and defending against data breaches and cyber attacks in a completely new way. The continued growth of the cloud, virtualization and mobility has transformed the traditional data center, with 83 percent of data now traveling East/West, never seen by the traditional perimeter. The paradigm shift has created a playground for attackers and has increased the need for enterprises to protect their data centers inside and out.
