Vascular Pathways Names Rudy Mazzocchi Executive Chairman

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - November 19, 2014) - Vascular Pathways, Inc., a privately held medical device manufacturer with innovative wire-guided technology for peripheral intravascular access, today announced the company has appointed Rudy Mazzocchi as Executive Chairman of their Board of Directors.

Rudy Mazzocchi has over 25 years of senior management, technology development and financing experience in the medical devices industry. Authoring over 50 patents, he has been influential in pioneering new companies involved in cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ophthalmology and even embryonic stem-cell development. Through these efforts, he has become the recipient of many technology and business awards, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Healthcare (2004), Businessman of the Year Award (2005), and Global Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2013).

Rudy currently serves as CEO of ELENZA (an Implantable Electro-active Intraocular Lens technology) and previously served as the Interim-CEO of NovaVision Inc. (a Vision Restoration Therapy Company). He was the Managing Director of Accutive Medical Ventures & The Innovation Factory. He is also the former Co-founder and CEO of Image-Guided NEUROLOGICS, a company acquired by Medtronic in 2005.
