Vasona Networks Grows Executive Team as Deployments Expand Worldwide

New Hires Across Sales, Operations and Engineering Support Rising Global Demand for SmartAIR and SmartVISION Platforms to Manage and Analyze Mobile Traffic

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - May 29, 2015) - Vasona Networks, Inc.®, a provider of platforms for mobile network capacity and resource management and intelligence, today announces the latest additions to its growing executive team. Ron Robinson joins as senior vice president of worldwide sales, Ron Howe as senior vice president of global operations, and Uri Bechar as vice president of engineering. The new appointments are made as deployments of Vasona Networks' platforms expand around the world. This includes a recently announced European rollout with Telefónica UK for real-time visibility of network traffic and active session management across individual cells when congestion occurs.

"Vasona Networks is executing on a global opportunity as mobile operators worldwide strive to overcome rising congestion challenges and deliver the best customer experiences," says Biren Sood, chief executive officer of Vasona Networks. "The newest additions to the Vasona team bring vital experience working with tier-one, international operators, and come at a crucial time as we scale existing deployments, ready new ones, and expand to new regions."

Robinson's experience spans more than two decades working with both startups and large global players. This has included engagements throughout the Americas, Europe, Middle East, India and China. He joins Vasona Networks from Fastback Networks, where he served as senior vice president of global sales with a focus on the deployment of the company's backhaul products. Prior to Fastback, Robinson was vice president and head of global Wi-Fi sales at Ericsson following its acquisition of BelAir Networks, where he was senior vice president of global sales. Robinson has also held sales executive roles at Alcatel Lucent and Newbridge Networks.

Howe has responsibility across services, support, and system delivery. He joins Vasona Networks from Harmonic, where he was senior vice president of global services and support for the company's full product line. During the course of a career that has spanned more than three decades, Howe has helped to grow operations and services teams at companies that include DiviCom, Minerva Networks, BlueArc and Omneon.

Bechar spearheads Vasona Networks' software and product development out of the company's Tel Aviv office. He was previously vice president of engineering at Radware with a focus on virtualization products. He has also held software and engineering positions with HyWire and Voltaire.

The new executives add capabilities associated with developing, selling, deploying and supporting Vasona SmartAIR and Vasona SmartVISION. These platforms leverage dynamic rate control with feedback (DRCF) technology to classify data traffic, assess congestion within individual cells across any application type, and take actions that assure complete content delivery, minimize session latency, and maximize quality of user experiences. Operators benefit with higher content carriage, more satisfied customers and more effective network investments.
