Vaughan Mills Partners With Woodbine Entertainment as Official Shopping Centre Sponsor of the 157th Queen's Plate

Vaughan Mills Creates A Stylish Spectator's Guide to the Queen's Plate 2016 With CTV's Erica Wark

VAUGHAN, ON--(Marketwired - June 22, 2016) - Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre, in partnership with Woodbine Entertainment Group, is proud to announce it has been named the designated Shopping Centre Sponsor of the 157th Queen's Plate, taking place on Sunday, July 3rd at Woodbine Racetrack.

To help guests prepare for the event, Vaughan Mills collaborated with Erica Wark from CTV's The Social to create A Stylish Spectator's Guide to the Queen's Plate 2016, a style guide to show guests that being best dressed is easier than expected. The video was styled by Erica Wark and includes lessons on wearing a must-have fascinator, how to get 'The Jockey' look and more -- with all attire available at Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre.

As part of the sponsorship:

  • Vaughan Mills will broadcast the Queen's Plate race (via TSN 1) in the Sports Court from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3.
  • Vaughan Mills will outfit the Queen's Plate on-air hosts, Dawn Lupul and Jeff Bratt, with attire available at Vaughan Mills.
  • Leading up to the event, two contests will be hosted via @Vaughan_Mills Instagram account, beginning the week of June 20th, where fans can enter by liking a photo, tagging a friend and using #VMstylesQP and #QP16 for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree, a style consultation with Vaughan Mills Stylist, Sarah Francis, and two grandstand tickets to the big race.
  • During the Hats and Horseshoe Party, attendees will a have an opportunity to enter another contest at the Vaughan Mills activation tent, for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree and a style consultation with Vaughan Mills Stylist, Sarah Francis.

Vaughan Mills will be onsite at the fashion forward Hats and Horseshoe Party from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3. Vaughan Mills stylist Sarah Francis will judge the Most Fashionable Lady and Most Fashionable Gentleman contests in which the winners will each receive a $1,000 shopping spree at Vaughan Mills.

Founded in 1860, the Queen's Plate is Canada's oldest thoroughbred horse race featuring three-year-old thoroughbred horses foaled in Canada. It is also the first race in the Canadian Triple Crown.
