VBrick Advances Unified Communications Vision With IBM Lotus Sametime Integration

Seamless Integration of Live or On-Demand Video With Sametime Establishes Video as a Critical Collaborative Application in the Enterprise

WALLINGFORD, CT--(Marketwire - October 13, 2009) - VBrick announced today that its flagship Enterprise Media System (VEMS) can now seamlessly integrate with the IBM Lotus Sametime unified communications platform, allowing enterprise users to assimilate IP video streaming with key unified communications applications, from instant messaging and telephony to Web conferencing. VBrick first announced its product integration with Sametime in March 2008. The integration has resulted in unparalleled collaboration benefits for users, who can now search for and view live and on-demand video (and rich media presentations), share contacts and chat with content creators, all without leaving the Sametime client.

VEMS, announced Oct. 5 in a separate release entitled "VBrick Unveils Industry's Most Complete Solution to Distribute Live and On-Demand Video Across the Enterprise," can scale to manage IP video streaming for tens of thousands of concurrent users across an enterprise, using advanced bandwidth optimization and sophisticated search capabilities to optimize video viewing and management.

The VEMS Plug-In for Sametime makes live and stored enterprise video assets available via Sametime with a simple Plug-In that lists IP video content within the Sametime portal. This allows users to easily integrate IP video streaming into some of Sametime's most popular features, such as instant messaging. Moreover, the video watching experience is highly interactive as users can chat with video content creators, as well as comment and quickly share videos with friends and colleagues on their "contacts" lists.

"Our integration with IBM Lotus Sametime signals our determination to establish IP video streaming as an essential component to an enterprise unified communications strategy," said Vince Graziani, chief executive officer, VBrick. "Sametime users around the world -- and in every industry -- are now recognizing the power of IP video streaming to more effectively broadcast internal and external communications."
