VCom CableVista Edge Decoder Successfully Tested by Major US MSO

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 27, 2006) - VCom Inc. (TSX:VCM) today reports that after successful performance testing, another major multiple service operator (MSO) in the United States has conditionally approved VCom's CableVista edge decoder. At this time, VCom has been cleared to ship the digital video product to operational sites in the US. Pending final documentation relating to environmental testing, the Company believes it will receive full approval. Adelphia Communications and Cox Communications granted VCom approval of the same product in February of this year. Several mid-size MSOs have also deployed CableVista to date.

Cable MSOs utilize CableVista in their high-speed distribution networks to deliver a superior quality analog program tier and as a vital component of sophisticated digital video transport solutions for zoned ad insertion.

VCom's CableVista edge decoder performs MPEG decoding, analog modulation and upconversion for up to 24 NTSC/PAL channels in a compact 1 RU chassis. With numerous redundancy features, hot-swappable components and flexible software, CableVista is also capable of supporting baseband and RF outputs as well as Off-Air Reference options in the same chassis, offering the highest degree of flexibility available. CableVista has now emerged as the clear market leading solution for decoding to analog baseband and RF. VCom's CableVista and VistaLynx are also available through Mega Hertz, a value-added-reseller in North America.

The CableVista edge decoder complements VCom's Edge QAM product, VistaLynx which provides QAM modulation and upconversion capability used to deliver such services as true Video-on-Demand (VOD), and an increased number of digital channels. VCom's CableVista and VistaLynx are key elements for the VOD and Digital Simulcast needs of today's all-digital cable networks.
