Vector Marketing Corporation's Midwest Region Honors Outstanding Achievements in Sales

NORTHVILLE, MI--(Marketwired - May 14, 2013) - Entrepreneurship and sales excellence were in the air at Vector Marketing Corporation's recent Midwest Region annual year end banquet, held January 25 - 26, 2013 in Detroit, Michigan. This year's banquet drew more than four hundred sales representatives, managers and parents to honor those individuals within the region who achieved outstanding levels of sales excellent in 2012. Vector Marketing Corporation is the single-level direct sales division of Cutco Cutlery Corporation. Cutco, the largest kitchen cutlery manufacturer in North America, sells its products primarily through a national network of college students who sell through in-home personal demonstrations. The 64-year-old company manufactures its cutlery products in the western New York State city of Olean.

The region's top sales performers for 2012 in each category were:

  • Personal Sales: Miles Tucker from Syracuse, New York, who sold $180,454 for the year.
  • Office Sales: Nadine McGowan from North Indianapolis, Indiana, whose yearly office sales totaled $1,116,743.
  • District Team Sales: Tina Marie Minar's East Lansing District, which sold $1,231,109 for the year.
  • Division Sales: Chris Hammond and the Empire (New York) Division finished top in the region at $6,345,426 in sales for the year.

Vector sales representatives usually begin as college students. Some move up the ranks as managers while others use the experience as stepping stones to other sales-oriented and entrepreneurial careers. These independent contractors learn a wide range of skills that serve them well with Vector or in other positions. These skills include:

4. Working for a commission
5. Customer service
