Veeam Software Advances Virtualization Management With VMware Ready™ Optimized Solutions

Veeam Is Among the First ISVs to Complete New Qualification; Now Shipping Two VMware Ready Optimized Products

CANNES, FRANCE--(Marketwire - February 23, 2009) - VMworld Europe -- Veeam Software, award-winning provider of systems management tools for VMware virtual datacenter environments, today announced that it is one of the first independent software vendors (ISVs) to achieve VMware Ready™ Optimized status. The Veeam/nworks Management Pack for VMware for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and the Veeam/nworks Smart Plug-in for VMware for HP Software Operations Manager have been qualified through a VMware-specified testing process, and are now VMware Ready Optimized.

"We were honored to be an early participant in the VMware Ready qualification process, as it reflects our strong technical relationship with VMware," said Ratmir Timashev, Veeam president and CEO. "As an early adopter starting with the VMware API in 2007, we are proud to have two optimized products. We continue to work with VMware to help our mutual customers gain valuable business benefits through our optimized products."

The VMware Ready Program enables customers to quickly identify VMware partner products designed and optimized for today's sophisticated Virtual Datacenter Operating System (VDC-OS) environments, as well as indicating which service providers are committed to the VMware vCloud Initiative by running the VDC-OS environment and building value-added services to it, ensuring the same user experience on and off premise. The program is designed to ensure that customers benefit from the broadest choice of solutions, reduced risk, and lower integration costs. "VMware Ready" tells customers that optimized products can support a long-term evolution of their virtualization strategies -- leveraging the unique capabilities of VMware virtualization and cloud platforms while working across heterogeneous environments and interconnected processes, regardless of hardware, application or operating system.

"VMware is focused on delivering the most effective management solutions for the VDC-OS through VMware vCenter and integrated management products from VMware partners. The Veeam/nworks products allow customers who have invested in HP Software Operations Manager and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager to leverage those investments to help manage VMware environments," said Shekar Ayyar, vice president of Infrastructure Alliances, VMware. "Veeam's delivery of VMware Ready management solutions that integrate with and complement the VMware platform is important for our customers as they aim to streamline management processes across IT environments."

VMware Ready Optimized designates products that have been validated as being architected, tuned or integrated to best leverage VMware functionality for mutual customers. Products are subjected to a series of automated and manual compatibility tests. This process helps enable optimized levels of integration, functionality, and performance, while adhering to VMware's architectural and supportability requirements. Only qualified products passing these tests are eligible to use the VMware Ready Optimized logo.
