Vegetables Equals Donation to Red Cross

Peak wants its donation to grow

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - Feb. 8, 2010) - Peak of the Market announces a unique way to raise money for the Canadian Red Cross.

For every bag of Peak of the Market vegetables purchased in Manitoba from February 8th to February 28th, Peak of the Market Growers will donate 20 cents to the Canadian Red Cross to help the people of Haiti.

Their target is $40,000 for the Canadian Red Cross - 20 cents at a time. Manitobans can help simply by buying a bag of Peak of the Market brand potatoes, carrots, onions or parsnips.

"Peak of the Market Growers and my co-workers wanted to help the people of Haiti, stated Larry McIntosh, President and CEO of Peak of the Market. "Reaching our fundraising goal of $40,000 for the Canadian Red Cross is attainable with the help of Manitobans. This would be our single largest cash donation in our 68 year history."

Peak of the Market would like to thank the following for helping make this fundraiser a success. All the media for helping to get the message about the fundraiser out to Manitoba consumers. The retailers for putting up signs and helping ensure Manitoba vegetables are on display. Manitobans for buying bags of Peak of the Market vegetables especially during this fundraiser. Our Growers and Staff who have donated enabling this fundraiser for the Canadian Red Cross and the people of Haiti to happen.
