VeloCloud SD-WAN Demonstrates Multivendor Interoperability Proof of Concept at ONUG

VeloCloud Validates Market Solutions Against Real IT User Requirements

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Nov 4, 2015) - ONUG Fall 2015 -- VeloCloud Networks Inc., the Cloud-Delivered SD-WAN™ company, today announced that it will showcase a multivendor Proof of Concept (PoC) of VeloCloud SD-WAN with Cisco® Intelligent WAN as part of the first ever SD-WAN Working Group PoC Demonstration. Unveiled at ONUG Fall 2015 and based on ONUG's original use case requirements, the joint demonstrations mark the completion of ONUG's first full cycle of its working groups -- from original use case requirements to true product development. The ONUG PoC demonstration fair brings to life the growing software-defined infrastructure ecosystem and buildout of a new open framework.

The VeloCloud and Cisco SD-WAN PoC demonstrates optimized connectivity to real time unified communications, SaaS applications and cloud services. The demonstration shows how hybrid WAN or Internet-only WAN branch office connectivity delivers business grade application performance over Internet in the presence of network impairments. The demonstration shows interoperability and innovative SD-WAN use cases for network connectivity, application performance, security, cloud service providers and managed service providers.

"As the leader in WAN solutions for enterprises worldwide, exceeding key IT user requirements is a high priority for Cisco," said Jason Rolleston, senior director of product management for Enterprise Routing at Cisco. "Cisco is committed to open networking, and interoperability with the VeloCloud Cloud-Delivered SD-WAN demonstrates the flexibility of the Cisco IWAN solution."

"Quality of experience and performance for mission critical enterprise and cloud applications over private and public networks is key to the success of today's enterprises," said Steve Woo, co-founder and VP of product at VeloCloud. "This demonstration shows how VeloCloud SD-WAN with Cisco IWAN addresses these IT demands while delivering enterprise class bandwidth, performance and security over the Internet."

"We were thrilled to see that so many members of the ONUG vendor community, such as VeloCloud, are engaging with users to develop PoCs based directly on user-mandated requirements," said Nick Lippis, Co-Chairman and Co-Founder of ONUG. "This illustrates a major step forward in ONUG's mission to facilitate collaboration between the IT user and vendor communities aimed at driving the development of open interoperable hardware and software-defined infrastructure solutions."

Visit the VeloCloud booth at ONUG Fall 2015 at New York University's Kimmel Center on Nov. 4 - 5, and watch the interoperability demo at 2 pm EST on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
