Venues Today Magazine Celebrates Fifth Anniversary, Largest Issue to Date

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - July 18, 2007) - Venues Today Magazine, the leading publication for the venue management industry, celebrated its fifth anniversary in July with the largest issue to date for the magazine. Linda Deckard, Publisher and Editor-in-chief of the magazine, announced that this issue also introduced the company's new logo and look. "We're proud to have served the industry for the past five years with our weekly e-newsletters and in-depth behind the scenes news for the family shows, conventions and fairs from the venue management perspective. The support that the industry has given us in the special fifth year anniversary edition attests to the wonderful relationship we've established with all the individuals that make up this business," said Deckard.

In addition to the new logo and look, the July edition features the 2007 Mid-Year Tops Stops reports, which is a listing of arenas and theaters that have grossed the most money from ticket sales in the preceding six-month period, and the 2007 Mid-Year Hot Tickets, a listing of the biggest shows presented during that period.

The Venues Today Top Stops are ranked based by total gross revenue for comparable buildings by seating capacity. The mid-year stats run from Nov. 16, 2006 through May 15, 2007. In the 15,001 or more seats category, Madison Square Garden Arena in New York takes top ranking with a total gross of $33,429,559 with 57 shows. Following close behind is Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, then Staples Center, Los Angeles, and AcerArena, Sydney, Australia. The full report of the Top Stops and Hot Tickets can be found at the magazine's web site,

In addition to celebrating its own anniversary, the July issue of Venues Today also pays tribute to the 10th anniversary of VenuWorks, (formerly Compass Facility Management), a private management company which runs several Midwest and Southeast arenas and convention centers.

Deckard said the magazine is already looking ahead to new features as they begin the sixth year of publication. "This August issue we are going to honor the winners of our first annual 'Women of Influence Awards,'" said Deckard. The nominations and votes were taken from the magazine's subscribers in the venue management industry.
