Veritas Global Opens Beijing Office; Southfield-Based Business Intelligence and Security Consultant to Assist Chinese Companies Expanding Overseas

SOUTHFIELD, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 17, 2007 -- Veritas Global LLC, an international business intelligence and security consulting firm, has opened an office in Beijing, China, and formed Sino-Veritas, a joint venture with BMTC of Beijing. The joint venture is the result of high-level discussions between Veritas Chairman Donald B. Lifton and Chinese government and business leaders.

"China's business enterprises are going global," said Lifton. "Our expertise in providing business intelligence, background checks and security assessments will assist Chinese companies moving offshore into new markets in this country and overseas. Chinese businesses are extremely concerned with protection of their brands, intellectual property, property and personnel. Veritas is uniquely qualified to assist them with that."

Sino-Veritas will begin working with Chinese corporations opening offices, manufacturing or technology centers overseas, particularly in North and South America, the Middle East and Africa. Sino-Veritas will provide intelligence on local business conditions, provide background checks on local hires, and develop and implement comprehensive security plans to safeguard intellectual and physical property, and employees in the new regions.

"As Chinese companies move out of their country, they want to have the best information possible to make a smooth transition. Sino-Veritas' network of sources will provide them with the information and contacts they require," Lifton added.

Lifton recently spoke at the Fourth Chinese Enterprise Forum in Beijing. The forum's focus was "Implementing a Strategy of 'Going International.'" The audience was comprised of senior business leaders and senior government officials. The forum is an annual event focusing on the most pressing domestic and international economic issues. Mr. Lifton was the only American speaker to be invited to the forum.
