Verity Opens Top Ranked Small-Mid Cap Value Portfolio to Public Investors

Small-Mid Cap Value Receives "Top Gun" and "Best of the Best" Recognition From PSN Informa

DURHAM, NC--(Marketwire - Dec 13, 2011) - Verity's Small-Mid Cap Value portfolio has been ranked the top performer for the one year period ending 9/30/2011 in both the Small-Mid Value (#1 out of 59 portfolios) and the Small Cap Value (#1 out of 232 portfolios) universes by PSN Informa, one of the largest separately managed account databases. It also ranked in the top six in the Small Cap, Small-Mid Cap, and the overall US Value universes.

"The portfolio is approaching a 3-year track record, and the results have been consistently strong," says portfolio manager Steve Lewis. "We feel that investors can benefit from this approach, even during these volatile times, as a key equity component in their overall portfolios."

"This strategy has been a leader in its peer group, and we feel the time is right to open it to more investors," says CIO Gordon Wegwart.

The strategy is led by Steve Lewis, who brings nearly 25 years of investment experience to the development of the security selection process used in managing this portfolio. Steve has been a member of Verity's investment management team since 2006. Previously, Steve worked for Dreyfus and JPMorgan Chase, and also managed the Global Navigator Fund L.P., a hedge fund.
