Vernon Wells Perfect 10 Foundation to Host 2nd Annual Charity Gala and Golf Tournament Nov. 14-15, 2010

Vernon Partners With The Pro Players Foundation to Broaden Charity Impact and Attract More Celebrities to the Event

ARLINGTON, TX--(Marketwire - March 11, 2010) -  The Vernon Wells Perfect 10 Foundation has announced that the 2nd Annual Vernon Wells Perfect 10 Charity Gala and Golf Tournament will be held Nov. 14-15, 2010. The charity gala will be hosted Nov. 14 at the Hilton Dallas/Southlake Town Square in Southlake, Texas, while the golf tournament will take place Nov. 15 at Trophy Club Country Club in Trophy Club, Texas. The Foundation has partnered with The Pro Players Foundation to support their cause of helping children and to enhance celebrity participation in the 2010 event. The Vernon Wells Perfect 10 Foundation was established in 2009 by Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Vernon Wells to support and protect children and mothers in need.

"We're looking forward to our 2nd annual gala and golf tournament," said Wells. "Our inaugural event in 2009 was such a success that we're expanding with two golf courses at Trophy Club to accommodate more participants and sponsors. For anyone interested in helping kids and mothers build better lives, this is a great opportunity to do so while enjoying a memorable event."

The charity gala will include a silent auction, live auction, dinner and entertainment, including the comedic talent of Michael Jr. Golf tournament participants will be treated to an 18-hole round of golf in a best ball scramble format, with each threesome joined by a designated celebrity. Last year's celebrity guests included Michael Young, Ian Kinsler, Bernie Williams, Torii Hunter, Ben Crane, Orlando Hudson, Mark McLemore, Clayton Kershaw, Tom Grieve and Kevin Millwood, among many others.

"We formed a partnership with The Pro Players Foundation to help attract even more sports celebrities to our event," noted Marilee Wells, Director of Development for the Vernon Wells Perfect 10 Foundation. "And we believe so much in their cause that we also made The Pro Players a co-beneficiary of the 2010 event. Their dedication to helping children and victims of catastrophic injury and illness is truly inspiring. Vernon has been a member of the organization for the past year and we're proud to have them on board."

Businesses and individuals can view sponsorship and participation opportunities for the 2010 gala and golf tournament at VernonWellsFoundation.org; all proceeds will benefit the Vernon Wells Perfect 10 Foundation and The Pro Players Foundation.
