Versatile Gives Back to Local Community

Donates PCs to Hudson School Computer Lab

MARLBORO, MA--(Marketwire - Jun 4, 2012) - Versatile Communications Inc., an accomplished consulting company helping organizations solve business problems through technology integration, continues their commitment in giving back to local communities. Versatile Communications recently donated 18 computers to Hudson School District, Nottingham West Elementary School, which serves grades 1-5, as well as a preschool program.

The school's computer lab had outdated equipment which did not accommodate some classes' needs, therefore some students needed to "double up" on a computer. Before the donation, the computer lab had only 16 computers with old monitors available to the students.

The 25 computers allow the students to each sit at their own computer during their Computer Lab block schedule. The students have stated that they "love" their new computers and that the monitors are clearer to view; they now have flat screen monitors and can upload their class work or internet research/games much faster.

"The way of the future in education depends greatly on computers," explains Peter Durso, Principal of Nottingham West Elementary. "The more technology in the classroom and accessibility to the student to computers, the more information and visual lessons a teacher can provide increases our assessments each year. Because public schools depend upon local funding, sometimes the 'state of the art' is not a reality. With the generosity of companies, such as Versatile, these types of educational tools would not be available. The staff and students of Nottingham West Elementary School are grateful for Versatile's generosity and partnership."

"We recognize the importance for schools to provide students a solid education through the use of technology," explains John Barker, Versatile's CEO. "We are proud to be able do our part in giving back to our local communities by donating PCs to Nottingham West's computer lab."

The computer lab is used on a scheduled, daily basis by each classroom from first to fifth grade. Teachers can expand their lesson plans by accessing educational games loaded into the computer, the computers allow students to perform research for class projects on the internet, explore educational websites, and even compose class projects and papers.
