Vertix Consulting Releases Small Cell Business Model White Paper -- Available Now for Free Download

OAKTON, VA--(Marketwired - Mar 17, 2015) - Vertix Consulting, veteran providers of pragmatic and actionable insights on the most critical issues faced by telecom and other evolving industries, announces today the release of its new white paper entitled, "Small Cells: Is There a Business Model That Works for Vendors and Carriers?" The paper discusses the small cell investment landscape as it relates to growing data demand and MNOs' desire to achieve an acceptable level of indoor performance. The paper is now available on the company's website for complimentary download.

At present, small cell investment is focused on improving coverage, increasing capacity and driving more efficient spectrum use. However, the densification of MNOs' networks comes as price wars are heating up, ARPU is declining, marketplace growth is coming from lower value devices and customers are shifting across the big 4 carriers. Due to these complications, MNOs must adopt an aggressive cost structure in order to deploy the tens and hundreds of thousands of small cells required to enhance performance.

"Small cell adoption is on the rise; however, there is not one particular driver to solely account for the increase," states Greg Weiner, Partner, Vertix Consulting. "Carriers are seeing a number of dynamics influencing the marketplace, including the evolution of the vendor-carrier relationship and menu-driven pricing. These influencers, as well as others, will force carriers to focus on keeping deployment and operating costs down by moving away from the traditional macro mentality and adopting a disciplined approach."

Mr. Weiner will speak to the complexity and necessity of the small cell market at the 2015 Wireless Infrastructure Show on the panel titled Making the Small Cell Business Model Work on April 28 in Hollywood, Florida.
