Veteran Mobile Industry Executive Michael Ricci Joins Webtrends

Ricci to Lead Webtrends' Rapidly Growing Mobile Marketing Products and Services Business

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 18, 2011) - Webtrends today announced that Michael Ricci has joined the company as Vice President of Mobile. Ricci's more than twenty years of experience as a senior marketing and business development executive make him an ideal fit to oversee Webtrends' growing mobile marketing products and services business spanning apps, optimization and analytics.

Advertisers will spend between $1-2 billion marketing to consumers via mobile devices this year1 and Webtrends is lead-positioned to help brands maximize their mobile campaigns and offerings. In his new role, Ricci is responsible for setting the strategy for all Webtrends mobile products and services going forward, as well as working with mobile OEM partners including Blackberry and Microsoft. In addition, he will be a key contributor to the company's emerging digital strategy efforts.

Ricci is a recognized thought leader in the mobile marketing arena. He has worked with leading brands to build their mobile marketing strategy, including Clorox, Coca Cola, Dell, Disney, eBay, Lane Bryant, Lord & Taylor, Men's Wearhouse, Microsoft, Samsung, TGI Fridays and Wendy's. He also led strategy and creative for the Obama08 mobile programs and initiatives -- which was honored as 2008's Mobile Marketer of the Year.

Ricci joins Webtrends from Merkle, where he served as vice president and mobile practice leader. At Merkle, Ricci established the company's presence in mobile marketing and worked with Merkle's blue-chip client list to develop mobile engagement strategies. Prior to Merkle, Mike was VP of creative and strategy for iLoop Mobile, a premier player in the mobile marketing arena focused on assisting marketers, digital agencies and other entities create compelling and effective mobile marketing strategies and user experiences. Ricci also held key executive roles at Volantis Systems, Aggreko plc and York International Corporation.
