Veteran Resources Inc. Announces Appointment to Board
of Directors

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - March 18, 2005) - Veteran Resources
Inc. (TSX:VTI) is pleased to announce that David V. Richards of Calgary,
Alberta has been appointed to the Board of Veteran as an independent
board member. Mr. Richards is Managing Director of Network Capital Inc.,
a private investment firm dedicated to providing venture capital and
strategic direction to Canadian entrepreneurs. Established in 1997,
Network Capital has assisted over 35 small business enterprises in the
energy and technology sectors.

Mr. Richards is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and
past partner of both PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen and Co.
In his capacity as a senior partner with both Coopers and Andersen,
David had responsibility for major accounts such as Unocal Canada and
Texaco Canada. In 1995, he left Arthur Andersen and Co. to start Burin
Capital Corporation, a venture capital company specializing in early
stage private companies requiring growth and, or expansion capital and
financial expertise. David has written and presented numerous technical
papers and has been a regular presenter at industry organized
conferences. He is a Past President of the Alberta Chamber of Commerce
and a past Vice President of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce and over
the years has served numerous community-minded charitable organizations.

The Corporation also announces that Donald Jewitt will retire from the
Board at the Annual General Meeting, which is scheduled to be held at
9:00 a.m. (Calgary time) on Monday, May 16, 2005, at the Second Floor
Auditorium, Bantrel Building, 700 - 6th Avenue, S.W., Calgary, Alberta.

The Corporation and the Board would like to express their thanks to Don,
who was one of the founders of Veteran and its initial president and
CEO. Don resigned his position as president and CEO in July, 2002 when
the Corporation undertook a new strategic direction, and the Corporation
is thankful for the assistance and direction that he continued to
provide as a director.
