VFA Establishes Operations in the United Kingdom

Facilities Capital Planning and Asset Management Solutions Provider Forms U.K. Operating Unit, Appoints Steve Hand Manager of Sales for U.K.

BOSTON, MA and READING, UK--(Marketwire - February 27, 2008) - VFA, Inc., the leading provider of end-to-end solutions for facilities capital planning and asset management, today announced the establishment of a new operating unit in the United Kingdom, VFA Ltd., with offices in Reading. It is the company's first business unit outside of North America. VFA also announced the appointment of industry veteran Steve Hand as manager of sales in the U.K.

VFA provides facility audit services, Web-based software and business consulting services to enable more than 350 organisations worldwide to manage the entire capital asset lifecycle. The company cited increased demand for facilities capital management solutions in the U.K., particularly among multi-national corporations and the public sector, as driving the expansion.

"The need to better align facilities spending with business priorities, make building operations more sustainable or 'green,' and demonstrate the return on facility investments are some of the challenges facing U.K. organisations today. As a result, they are looking for solutions that help them to manage real estate assets more strategically and allocate capital investments more efficiently," said Jerry Kokos, president and CEO of VFA, Inc. "By providing capital management software and services that address these needs, VFA plans to significantly expand its U.K. customer base this year."

Like their counterparts in the U.S. and Canada, VFA customers in the U.K. rely on the company's facility audit services and capital management software to help them understand the conditions and requirements of their real estate assets, evaluate the impact of potential changes to their portfolios, and optimise their investments in facilities capital.

"Successful organisations approach facilities management as an integral part of their strategic plan," said Ian Fielder, CEO of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM). "More and more, corporations are looking to better ensure that facility assets both contribute to the delivery of strategic and operational objectives and provide a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the performance of any business."

As sales manager for the U.K., Steve Hand is responsible for overseeing existing VFA customer accounts in the U.K. as well as developing new business. He has over two decades of sales experience, most recently serving as pharmaceutical and public sector sales manager for IBM Tivoli Maximo in the U.K.
