VHA Announces Management Changes

IRVING, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 25, 2007 -- VHA Inc., the national health care alliance, announced that Robert Chapel, chief financial officer and treasurer, has resigned to pursue other executive opportunities, and Marcea Lloyd, general counsel and chief administrative officer, has retired from VHA.

VHA, a for-profit cooperative that serves approximately 25 percent of the nation's not-for-profit hospitals, has just finished a very successful 2006, one of its best years ever in terms of member satisfaction and financial returns to members.

Chapel, 50, will remain at VHA through the end of April to help with the transition. He joined VHA in 1988 as a tax manager and rose to the CFO position in 2003. Before joining VHA, Chapel worked for eight years for Price Waterhouse in Dallas.

Lloyd, 58, joined VHA as general counsel in 1999 after working for 21 years for Minneapolis-based Medtronic Inc., a medical device manufacturer. While at Medtronic, she taught business law at the University of Minnesota business school for three years. Her legal career also has included roles as assistant university attorney for the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, senior attorney for Montgomery Ward & Co., in Chicago, and staff counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union in Chicago. She will remain on staff at VHA through mid-February.

VHA has launched a national search to find individuals to fill their executive responsibilities.
