VHA Hires Exec From Computer Sciences Corp. to Lead Supply Chain Analytics Division

IRVING, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 27, 2006 -- VHA Inc. has hired Dan DeLay as senior vice president to lead its recently formed supply chain analytics division. DeLay will formulate VHA's strategy to help members use information and analytics to reduce supply costs, improve their revenue capture and link utilization of supplies to clinical care.

"Dan's appointment brings a great deal of experience to the existing VHA team that will provide new supply chain analytics services and tools to members," said Stuart B. Baker, M.D., chief operating officer at VHA. "Health care organizations don't suffer from a lack of data, but they do suffer from a lack of useful data that can help them drive down costs and improve care. We're committed to helping members make the best use of the data we provide."

VHA formed its supply chain analytics division in September 2005, and acquired Goodroe Healthcare Solutions in October 2005. All of these efforts support VHA's objective to help members leverage data to improve their economic and clinical performance.

Prior to joining VHA, DeLay served as a partner in Computer Sciences Corporation's Global Health Solutions, helping clients set and implement strategic information goals. A number of his projects involved the creation and implementation of new business models in conjunction with the selection and implementation of supporting information systems. Prior to joining CSC, he was a senior manager with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, leading the delivery of large supply chain strategy, cost-savings, and business process redesign projects. From 1991 to 1996, he was senior associate with Kathleen T. Zellner & Associates, specializing in health care litigation.

From 1984 to 1991, he served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard in a number of roles, including missile crew member, infantry platoon leader and training officer.

DeLay earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago, a law degree from Loyola University and his master's degree in business administration from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
