VHA Inc. Elects New Board Member

IRVING, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 22, 2007 -- VHA Inc., the national health care alliance, has added one new board member and announced that two people have completed their board terms. The board changes were announced at the annual VHA shareholder meeting, held this year in Denver. The new board member is Bobbie Gerhart, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Miami Valley Hospital, a VHA member in Dayton, Ohio.

"Bobbie brings 25 years of experience in health care management and supply chain management to our board," said Curt Nonomaque, president and chief executive officer of VHA. "In addition, her early background as a nurse and former director of the cardiology service line at Good Samaritan Hospital, gives greater depth of understanding to the clinical and financial realities that our members have to deal with, and enhances the board's overall ability to drive value for VHA members."

Concluding their terms on the VHA board are: Jean R. Elrick, M.D., senior vice president of administration at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston; and Stephen C. Reynolds, president and CEO of Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis.
