VHA Inc. Executive Joan Evans Condon Honored by Saint Louis University School of Public Health

IRVING, TX--(Marketwire - November 9, 2010) -  Joan Evans Condon, senior vice president and executive officer of VHA Inc.'s Mountain States region, earned the Saint Louis University School of Public Health's Doctoral Alumni Award at its annual scholarship dinner and awards ceremony honoring alumni who have demonstrated their leadership and commitment to their field, the school and their communities. She also served as the event's keynote speaker and honorary chair. Condon earned her doctorate in Health Services Research at the School of Public Health in 1991.

A passionate and active champion for health care improvement, Condon directs initiatives that focus on improving clinical quality, patient safety, the patient's hospital experience, workforce effectiveness, financial and operational efficiency and community health.

VHA's Mountain States office coordinates the delivery of industry-leading supply chain management services, clinical and performance improvement services, and member network activities for health care organizations in 72 communities in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, western Nebraska, New Mexico, eastern Washington and Wyoming.

Condon's 35-year-long health care career includes leadership roles with the Visiting Nurses Association, the American Red Cross, St. Louis-based SSM Health Care, New York University School of Medicine and OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio. She has held academic positions with the New York University School of Medicine, the St. Louis University School of Public Health and the Washington University School of Medicine.
