VHA Inc. Promotes Nik Fincher to Vice President of Purchased Services

Emphasizes Importance to Hospitals of Capital Assets and Purchased Services Programs

IRVING, TX--(Marketwire - February 25, 2009) - Emphasizing the increasing relevance to hospitals of both the purchased services and capital assets sectors, VHA Inc., the national health care alliance, has promoted Nik Fincher to vice president of purchased services and capital asset sales.

In this new role, Fincher assumes responsibility for the management of the purchased services field teams that work with VHA members to address important service-related solutions including: nurse staffing, information technology and telecommunications. He will continue to maintain his leadership of the capital asset services program. Linking these services will deliver superior strategic and cost-saving benefits to members, especially important as hospitals try to defray mounting budget deficits created by decreasing revenues and find solutions to constrained access to capital wrought by a weak economy.

Prior to joining VHA in 2004, Fincher was the director of equipment planning and management for Centex Resource Group. His responsibilities there included equipment planning project management for Centex clients, including Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. Before joining Centex, Fincher was vice president of customer operations at INPHACT Inc., a provider of digital imaging products and services to hospitals and imaging centers. There, he managed all of the departments responsible for the successful support, training and implementation of RIS/PACS products and services.

Earlier, Fincher was the principal and vice president at Partners Healthcare Group, Brentwood, Tenn., where he provided strategic capital equipment and technology-related capital asset planning and consulting services to a broad array of American and Canadian health care clients. Fincher also possesses extensive group purchasing and contract negotiating experience.

"This new role and responsibilities highlight the increasing value our members can derive from these services under a seasoned, results-oriented professional," said Amy Anthony, senior vice president of supply chain services at VHA. "Importantly, Nik's understanding and experience with every aspect of these services will help him improve efficiency by driving member value up and costs down."

While serving in the United States Air Force, Fincher attended the School of Healthcare Sciences and earned his certification from the American Registry of Radiology Technologies. He also studied biochemistry and business administration at Louisiana State University at Shreveport, and Broward Community College in Pompano Beach, Fla. Fincher is on the editorial board of Healthcare Purchasing News and Medical Construction and Design.
