VHA Seeks Space for Research Laboratory in Kansas City, MO

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - September 02, 2016) - The Veteran's Health Administration (VHA) released on Friday, September 2, 2016, a sources sought notice, advertising for land that is between 7,688 square feet and 8,000 square feet, or an existing building of 10,379 square feet of rentable office/clinical space. The existing building must be capable of meeting wet lab demands.

The VA is conducting a competition for space, and will locate this facility in the most advantageous location for the government, and will consider the location, access, present layout, alterations, and other factors when determining if the space is appropriate.

If offering an existing office/clinical space, it must not be located on more than one floor. The VHA prefers first floor space that makes available an estimated minimum of 7,688 net usable square feet not to exceed a maximum of 8,000 net useable square feet of contiguous space. The space must come with at least 20 on-site parking spaces, two of which marked and designed as handicapped.

The VHA requires all services, supplies, utilities, partitioning, and required tenant alterations, and intends to lease the space for a total of 10 years, though the VHA retains the right to terminate its lease after five years, and only after giving 90 days written notice.

The VHA must be able to occupy the space by no later than January 31, 2018.

The acceptable site consists of a build-to-suit (new construction) or an existing office/clinical space modified to meet the VA's needs.

To be considered, the property must be within a delineated area of North: MO 210 Hwy/Sunshine Road; East: MO 291 Hwy; South: I-435/US 50 Hwy; and West: I-635/Metcalf Ave/US-69 and within city limits of Kansas City, MO. Proposed property must have all city utilities available, and be located in the 64128 ZIP code. Offers must provide evidence that properties are outside the 100 year flood plain.
