Victoria-Area Contractor Takes Over Chairmanship of
Canadian Construction Association

CANCUN, MEXICO--(CCNMatthews - March 11, 2005) - Mr. Murray Farmer of
Victoria, British Columbia today took over as the 2005-06 Chairman of
the Board of Directors of the Canadian Construction Association (CCA)
during CCA's Annual Conference in Cancun, Mexico. Mr. Farmer replaces
Ms. Shirley Westeinde, the first ever female Chair of CCA.

Mr. Farmer brings a wealth of experience to the role of Chair. Since
1998, he has served as Vice-President of Farmer Management Inc., which
provides project and construction management services for public and
private owners. From 1977 to 1998, Murray was President and General
Manager of Mutual Equipment Rentals/Commercial Crane Ltd., located in
Victoria and Burnaby, British Columbia. Murray has also served as the
Chair of the British Columbia Construction Association, the Construction
Association of Victoria, the Vancouver Island Construction Association,
the Public Construction Council, and the President of the Mobile Crane
Owner's Association. He is equally active in the local community,
having served as Immediate Past Chair of The Victoria Foundation, and is
a member of the University of Victoria Board of Governors Executive and
the Government House Foundation.

"I look forward to working with the CCA Board of Directors and the
construction community throughout Canada to tackle the challenges our
industry continues to face", stated Mr. Farmer. "Be it long-standing
issues such as infrastructure investment, updated standard practices, or
tax fairness, or emerging issues such as the need for innovation or more
sustainable building practices, the Canadian Construction Association
will continue to provide industry-wide leadership, and I look forward to
playing a key role in that process."

The Canadian Construction Association is the voice of the
non-residential construction sector in Canada. The Canadian
construction industry employs over 1 million people and directly
accounts for some 12 percent of Canada's Gross Domestic Product.
