Victoria, British Columbia Selects Envista Cloud-Based Right-of-Way Coordination Platform to Streamline Management of Utility Projects and Events

Online Sharing of Activity Details and Documents Helps Enforce Moratoriums and Avoid Conflicts

BEVERLY, MA--(Marketwire - Apr 17, 2012) - Envista Corporation, the world's leading provider of enterprise right-of-way (ROW) coordination solutions via the web, today announced that the City of Victoria, capital of British Columbia, has selected the Envista Enterprise ROW Coordination Platform to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of coordinating utility projects spanning water, wastewater, storm drains and roads, as well as events within the City.

Like many municipalities, Victoria was challenged to effectively manage moratoriums on street cuts. City planners tracked projects using a three-ring binder, but it was difficult to relate details of one project to another or identify where new projects overlapped with moratoriums, let alone reveal up to the minute changes. With Envista Utility Project Coordination, all stakeholders in the City can now visually account for moratoriums and utility projects online, quickly identify conflicts or violations and avoid costly street cuts all in real-time.

The solution also includes Envista Attachment Management, allowing supporting documents to be shared electronically and viewed simultaneously by multiple stakeholders, streamlining project management. In addition, Envista Street Events enables event managers to coordinate all types of municipal special events including parades, road races, and festivals. Envista Street Events automatically maps event locations as well as related impacts such as detours, parking restrictions, variable message signs, and traffic officers.

Jas Paul, Manager of Support Services for Victoria, said, "Envista's cloud solution was the ideal way for us to move away from old manual processes. Implementation was fast and easy -- we simply provided our data and Envista did the rest. Now we can immediately identify conflicts in the right-of-way and know exactly where moratoriums exist in relation to utility projects to prevent digging there. Being able to share documents electronically has also provided a huge time savings."

Brad Steer, Envista's Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, commented, "Envista is very pleased to work with Victoria to improve communication and coordination for the City's utility projects and events. By helping the City access and organize all the details and documentation associated with these complex activities, Envista is a powerful way to save money and time, as well as reduce environmental impact."
