TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 27, 2014) - Vida Cannabis Corp. ("Vida Cannabis") is pleased to announce the Company's wholly owned Canadian subsidiary, Vida Cannabis (Canada) Ltd. ("Vida Canada"), has closed in escrow on the $500,000 purchase of the 315,000-square-foot former production plant located at 114 Acadia Avenue, Stellarton, Nova Scotia. The contract was initially announced in a Vida Cannabis news release dated February 28: "Vida Cannabis (Canada) Contracts to Purchase 315,000 Sq. Ft. Building; Secures Local Approval for the Production of Medical Marijuana in Canada."
Vida believes this facility is the ideal structure to house a large-scale medical marijuana production plant. Moreover, its location in Stellarton is ideal, with the modern infrastructure in place to efficiently run such a facility.
Vida Cannabis CEO Greg Wilson stated: "We are very grateful to the Town of Stellarton for their strong support throughout the negotiation process. It was very clear that our interests were aligned right from the outset. It is our sincere objective to create jobs in order to support the local economy."
The Town of Stellarton has granted Vida Canada immediate access to the building in order to begin renovations. By engaging local contractors to complete the work, Vida will be able to quickly begin providing an economic boost to the local community. It is Vida's intention to build a long-term relationship with the community of Stellarton, an intention that appears to be mutual and evident in Stellarton's 50-year consent to Vida Canada's operations in its jurisdiction.
