Viewdle SocialCamera Launches -- Stills Come to Life

First Mobile Application That Tags Your Friends Using Faceprints

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 27, 2011) - Viewdle (http://www.viewdle.com), the only independent mobile-focused visual analysis company, today launches a new app that turns your mobile phone camera into a real-time messaging application. Viewdle SocialCamera recognizes who's in your viewfinder and can instantly tag and share the mobile photos you take, with selected contacts via Facebook, MMS, Flickr, or email. Viewdle SocialCamera is now available for free for Android phones in the Android Market or at: http://www.viewdle.com/products/mobile.

"Viewdle SocialCamera is the first mobile camera app to encourage socializing and communication. Consumers can now instantly share their photos based on who appears in them," said Viewdle co-founder and CEO Laurent Gil.

Viewdle uses sophisticated, proprietary algorithms to automatically create a 'faceprint' of the captured and saved frames of the person's face you are looking at in the viewfinder. Once that face has been tagged, the faceprint is saved to the phone and the user will not have to tag that person when a new photo of them is snapped -- Viewdle tags and shares it automatically with your friends on Facebook, Flickr, MMS, or email.

Unlike any other mobile app, Viewdle does all of its recognition and sharing on the mobile phone, as opposed to in the cloud or on the desktop.

Viewdle SocialCamera is the first in a line of face recognition-based consumer applications that Viewdle will be launching, both directly as well as in partnership with leading consumer electronics manufacturers. It is being launched in Beta and is the first mobile face recognition application to be launched to consumers in the U.S. market.
