Viewtier Adds to Parabuild Statistics and Reports for PHPUnit

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - August 16, 2007) - Today Viewtier Systems announced that it integrated Parabuild with PHPUnit, a popular open-source unit testing framework for PHP. The integration is available through the Early Access Program for Parabuild 3.2.

"Integration with PHPUnit provides Parabuild users an instant view into test trends," says Slava Imeshev, president and CTO of Viewtier Systems. "Unit testing is an important software development practice. Online test statistics in Parabuild help teams using PHP to develop better software faster."

Sebastian Bergmann, the PHPUnit founder and maintainer, says: "I am glad to see that yet another popular system for Continuous Integration supports PHPUnit. I am excited that a company such as Viewtier Systems realizes that there is a market for their product in the PHP space and adapts their tool to work well with existing tools such as PHPUnit in that space."

Parabuild parses XML logs generated by PHPUnit and creates a formatted test report and statistics charts. The logs are usually produced as a part of a Continuous Integration cycle or during a scheduled build.

About PHPUnit

In the last decade, PHP has developed from a niche language for adding dynamic functionality to small websites to a powerful tool making strong inroads into large-scale Web systems. With critical business logic being implemented in PHP, the spread in usage of PHPUnit, the member of the xUnit family of unit test frameworks for PHP, increased. PHPUnit goes above and beyond of being just a unit testing framework and also offers, among other things, insight into the tested software through metrics.
