Vikings Tickets Up on News of Favre Signing

Brett Favre Signing With Minnesota Caused Biggest One-Day Impact in Ticket Market This Year

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - August 20, 2009) - FanSnap(SM), the live event ticket search engine for fans, today announced its findings regarding the impact of the Brett Favre signing on Minnesota Vikings tickets.

In late July, when the would-be Vikings QB announced that he would stay retired, average ticket prices found on the FanSnap ticket search engine for Vikings games plummeted by $19 per ticket (falling from $158 to $139 per ticket in a three-day span). This week, following the announcement of Favre's signing with the Vikings, the average ticket price for a Vikings home game ticket surged $43 per ticket in one day.

The increased demand for Vikings tickets is especially pronounced for games against the Green Bay Packers. For the Vikings - Packers game in Minnesota, the get-in price (lowest price ticket) increased from $82 to $174.

For the Vikings - Packers game in Green Bay, the get-in price increased from $169 to $350 each.
