Vincero Inc Participates in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

SAN ANTONIO, TX--(Marketwired - Sep 15, 2014) - This past month, Vincero Inc. participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). In late July, Vincero Inc. CEO Joe Eckhart heard of the Ice Bucket Challenge and how is was bringing attention and funds to the ALS Association and its pursuits. Prior to that, Eckhart was not very familiar with ALS, but after researching the neurological disease and its effects, he decided to stand up and take part in this challenge and also encourage his employees to do the same.

Vincero Inc. employees, along with CEO Joe Eckhart, literally immersed themselves in this challenge. "Not only did we participate in this challenge to donate money for this disease but to also raise awareness for ALS," stated Mr. Eckhart.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a rapidly progressive, invariably fatal neurological disease that attacks the nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscles. ALS can affect muscles in the arms, legs and face as well. Eventually, the ability of the brain to start and control voluntary movement is lost. Most people with ALS die from respiratory failure, usually within 3 to 5 years from the onset of symptoms. However, about 10 percent of those with ALS survive for 10 or more years.

As of early September, the Ice Bucket Challenge has generated more than 100 million dollars in donations for the ALS Association. Eckhart now challenges other leaders in the industry, associates, family and friends to also stand up and take this challenge to continue to raise awareness for ALS.
