Vindicia Expands Online Gaming Market Lead With HitGrab and Arbopals

Ideal for All Online Gaming Genres, Vindicia CashBox™ Helps Publishers Attract and Retain Customers, Increase Revenue

REDWOOD CITY, CA and SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 9, 2010) - Game Developers Conference -- Vindicia today announced the addition of two game publishers, HitGrab and Arbopals, to their customer portfolio, further cementing their status as a leading provider of on-demand billing solutions in the online gaming industry. With these additions, CashBox continues to expand its reach into a wide variety of game genres, such as MMOs, casual games, social games and virtual worlds. With the online game market expected to reach $24.8 billion in 2013, according to Strategy Analytics, publishers who seek to stand out from the pack must establish a business model that is fine-tuned to monetize their games, regardless of genre or style.

HitGrab is an Ontario-based developer of social games, including the hit MouseHunt for the Facebook gaming platform. Arbopals provides a fun, safe, virtual world environment for children aged 5-10. As children play on the site, Arbopals helps plant real trees in 21 countries around the world, and the children get to pick the country where their trees get planted ("arbo" is the word in Esperanto for "tree"). Both companies selected Vindicia for its expertise in supporting different business models from subscriptions to microtransactions to hybrid models -- all of which enable maximized revenue through customer acquisition and retention.

"Vindicia CashBox will handle our online billing with the highest level of PCI compliance -- all while allowing us to support a variety of different business models," said Joel Auge, CEO of HitGrab, Inc. "Knowing that Vindicia is handling our billing management allows us to do what we do best -- develop and deliver popular games like MouseHunt and MythMonger."

"In a time when many online publishers and merchants are fighting to stay afloat in an unstable marketplace, we see the potential for real growth," said Peter O'Brien, President and CEO of Arbopals. "By using a flexible, personalized billing solution, we will optimize our customers' experiences and help carve out our unique spot in this space. Working with Vindicia is helping keep us at the forefront of this ever-evolving and always competitive virtual world marketplace."

"Online gaming continues to show strong marketplace traction across all categories and geographies," said Vindicia Chairman and CEO Gene Hoffman. "Innovative publishers have grasped that something as seemingly basic as a strategic billing solution can enable them to make the most of a great service. Whether that means providing gamers with a range of subscription options or creating a free-to-play environment in which gamers can spend as they please, Vindicia's solution ensures the highest rate of acquisition and retention, putting these publishers in the best possible position to succeed."

Market Leadership
The company's online gaming roster includes hugely successful MMO publishers such as Cryptic, who recently launched their Star Trek Online game and who supports over one million accounts with CashBox, and Realtime Worlds, whose highly anticipated APB is currently in development. Vindicia also works with casual game publishers such as Outspark and Wicked Interactive, who is now supporting their Suba Games portal with CashBox.

CashBox ensures that publishers are not losing customers to a lack of billing options, broken payments or fraud. Even the smallest increase in customer retention can lead to sizable revenue increases due to the power of Average Customer Lifetime Value (ACLV) in a subscription business model or monthly Average Revenue per User (ARPU) in a Free-to-Play (F2P) or freemium model.

Over the past year, Vindicia's customers saw increases in customer retention ranging from 10-25% annually, which resulted in $40 million of extra revenue that would have otherwise been left on the table by these companies. Additionally, Vindicia has increased the number of transactions handled by over 45% during the same time period.
