Ving Integrates With Google Classroom to Foster Collaboration

Enhances Engagement Between Teachers, Students and Parents for Better Communications

YOUNGSTOWN, OH--(Marketwired - Mar 14, 2016) - Ving announced today the integration of the company's cloud-based engagement platform with Google Classroom to help teachers organize assignments and tailor customized instruction to meet students' different needs. The combination of Ving integrated with Google Classroom contributes to stronger teacher-student relationships and gives children, particularly those at risk, the appropriate tools to understand and complete step-by-step assignments.

The integration with Google Classroom makes it effortless for teachers to organize and share "digital information packets" instead of traditional assignments. These digital packets can include a variety of multimedia and supporting resources to deliver clearer, concise instruction, helping to overcome the challenges students face with typical assignments that may involve multiple steps and different locations to visit. Ving packets can contain audio, video, and other multimedia, as well as text, and can be delivered in multiple visual formats. As well, Vings are sharable and reusable between teachers for use in other classes, and results can be tracked over time.

"Ving is a game-changer in terms of what it enables me, as a teacher, to do to help students reach their goals and experience success," said Chad Deangelo, science teacher and varsity swim coach at Boardman High School in Ohio. "Not only are students more engaged with the content I'm teaching, but they're more engaged with me and I'm more engaged with them -- which contributes to a much more motivating and fulfilling learning experience for them."

Through the Ving dashboard, teachers can monitor which students are engaged with classroom content, as well as determine which steps during a project or assignment are causing difficulties or delays for individual students.

Google Classroom is a blended learning platform for schools that aim to simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way. Google Classroom is a tool in Google Apps for Education that helps teachers create and organize assignments quickly, provide feedback efficiently, and easily communicate with their classes. It was designed hand-in-hand with teachers to help them save time, keep classes organized, and improve understanding among students.

"More and more schools are moving to the Google Classroom environment and all its supporting apps to create a technology-driven curriculum, and make learning more fun and current," said Tony DeAscentis, CEO of Ving. "At the end of the day it is all about student engagement, and Ving and the Google Classroom ecosystem are a perfect pair. The ability to gauge how well students are progressing with given assignments -- combined with the ability to create once, share with other educators and use many times -- results in an efficient use of the teacher's time which ultimately means more time with students."

"Technology can only do so much to close the student engagement gap," said Deangelo. "A platform like Ving is a great way to foster better connections with my students, as I'm better able to recognize when students may be having trouble keeping up or when they're not fully tuned in, and I can take more effective steps to connect with them and give them the help they need. It's been a tremendously valuable addition to our Google Classroom structure."

Ving is currently available as a Gmail extension through the Chrome Web store or from http://www.vingapp.com.
