Vintage Energy and Exploration, Inc. Announces New Board of Directors and Election of Officers

TULSA, OK--(Marketwire - August 27, 2007) - Vintage Energy and Exploration, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: LEWP) is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Board of Directors and election of officers.

John Thetford has been elected to serve as Chairman of the Board and President of Vintage Energy. Mr. Thetford is a partner in a well-established law firm with three offices in Oklahoma. He is an experienced litigator with experience in oil and gas litigation and transactional law. He has served on numerous boards and has served as advisor to many companies including publicly traded companies like Vintage.

Robert S. Kerr III will serve as the Executive Vice President of Vintage. Robert S. Kerr is a former Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma. He served under U.S. Speaker of the House Carl Albert in Washington, D.C. and has extensive experience in the natural resource industry. Robert S. Kerr is the grandson of U.S. Senator Robert S. Kerr, who founded Kerr McGee Oil Company. John Thetford, President of Vintage Energy and Exploration, Inc., said, "I am especially honored to serve with Mr. Kerr. Vintage is also very pleased to announce Sid Risner as a Board member and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Risner brings more than 37 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Upon obtaining his degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, Mr. Risner spent a large majority of his career studying formations and drilling wells in the Arkoma Basin, which is the location of our first drilling project.

Another person with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry that will serve on the Board is Sue Griffin. Sue Griffin has spent her entire career in the oil and gas industry beginning as a landman, obtaining her law degree from the University of Tulsa and working as a transactional lawyer for Williams Energy, Oneok and other energy related companies. The primary emphasis of her practice has been the acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas pipeline and gathering systems along with the acquisition and the divestiture of producing properties. Sue Griffin brings a great deal of focus and vision in helping Vintage identify acquisitions to further its growth.

Last, but not least, Ted Campbell will serve as a Director and the Secretary of Vintage. Ted Campbell obtained his MBA and Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Campbell has served on both the regulatory side and on the private side of the securities industry. He has worked in the brokerage industry and has been advising public companies the last 11 years on securities issues.
