Vior and SOQUEM Launch Drilling Program at Domergue Project, Quebec

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 14, 2005) - Vior Inc. ("Vior") (TSX VENTURE:VIO) and SOQUEM Inc. ("SOQUEM") are launching a drilling program to test new geophysical targets at their Domergue project, Quebec. The objective of this exploration program is to discover an economic VMS (volcanogenic massive sulphide) deposit on the property.

The Domergue project is a 50-50 joint venture between Vior and SOQUEM, the project operator. The property consists of 49 claims covering 764 hectares, located in Clairy Township approximately 125 kilometres north of the city of Chibougamau and accessible by forestry roads.

The property is located in the Frotet-Evans greenstone belt, which hosts the Troilus gold mine and several VMS deposits. Troilus has produced over one million ounces of gold since its start-up and contains reserves of 33.1 million tonnes grading 0.9 g/t Au and 0.1% Cu (Inmet Mining's mineral reserves estimates as at December 31, 2004). Frotet-Evans VMS deposits include the De Maures massive sulphide lens located 3 kilometres south of the Domergue property. The De Maures lens assaying 10% Zn, 1.3% Cu and 24 g/t Ag over 9.1 metres (ref.: GM54511) is owned by the Joint Venture - Northern Mining Explorations Ltd and SOQUEM. The Domergue property also hosts VMS style mineralization of interest as demonstrated by hole D95-02, drilled in 1995 by SOQUEM, that intersected massive sulphides assaying 4.1% Zn, 3% Cu and 30 g/t Ag over 1 metre.

Following a helicopter-borne electromagnetic and magnetic VTEM survey covering the entire property in detail last November, new geophysical targets were identified on the property. Many targets are completely new and were only detected due to the sensitivity of the VTEM system.

The first phase of the program consists of at least 650 metres of diamond drilling in three holes testing the best new VTEM anomalies in two favourable volcanic horizons.

This current program will be carried out under the supervision of geological engineer Laury Schmitt, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. He has been employed by SOQUEM since 1992 and has more than 14 years of exploration experience.

Vior is a Quebec-based mineral exploration company whose strategy is to explore and develop gold and base metal properties in proven and accessible mining areas. The Company wholly owns the Douay West gold project, which is at a pre-feasibility stage, and other gold and base metal exploration interests in the Abitibi region of Quebec. Inco Limited is the largest shareholder of Vior with a 17% interest in the Company.

SOQUEM is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Societe generale de financement du Quebec ("SGF"). The SGF, the Quebec industrial and financial holding company, has as its mission to undertake economic development projects in the industrial sector in cooperation with partners and in compliance with the economic development policies of the Government of Quebec.
